Access to ECOES Data
Access to ECOES Data
What is ECOES?
ECOES (the Electricity Central Online Enquiry Service - www.ecoes.co.uk ) is a website funded by electricity suppliers and distributors and governed under the MRA. The website gives a consolidated view of MPAS data for all metering points in the GB market, enabling suppliers to view data for all their customers from one location.
Access to ECOES is available to suppliers, distributors, supplier agents (e.g. Meter Operators and Data Collectors) and non-domestic customers. Some other parties may be granted access if approved by the MRA Development Board (MDB).
Access to ECOES Data
Some of the data contained in ECOES is distributed to suppliers on a monthly DVD, containing information for all registered metering points in Great Britain. This data is provided to suppliers so that they can check before they register a customer that they have selected the correct MPAN and are able to support the customer.
The MRA Executive Committee (MEC) has agreed that some other parties such as customer switching websites and third party intermediaries may request access to the data on this DVD. In order to obtain access third parties must complete an application process, sign a licence agreement and pay an annual fee of £1,000. The application process is administered by the Central Administration Service (CAS), provided by Gemserv.
The application process is detailed in the document below entitled ‘Guidance for Third Party Users of ECOES Data’ and the application form is also available to download.
If you have would like to apply or have any questions about the application process please contact the CAS at cas@gemserv.com .
