MRA Entry Assessment

Any party that wishes to operate in the live market as an electricity Supplier or Distribution Business is required by the MRA to demonstrate their ability to comply with its applicable obligations.

Obligations include procedural and non-procedural requirements such as metering point registration and message content respectively, as defined in the MRA and its subsidiary documents.

The MRA includes a Market Entry approval process based on an independent assessment and audit service. This provides both the new entrant and the existing market with the necessary assurances on compliance and interoperability, and is provided under the general funding provisions of the MRA at no cost to the new entrant.
