Executive Summary
The change proposed is the institution of an industry standard route by which Distribution Business may request, on behalf of the customer, that the Supplier makes arrangements to relocate a meter on a specified target date, consequent to a planned service relocation by the Distribution Business. Distribution Businesses recognise the fragmentation of the electricity industry poses problems for the customer, who would otherwise have to make arrangements directly with their Supplier. This takes time and effort and causes expense for the customer concerned. Many customers are baffled and confused by communications with Suppliers. The proposal enables the Distribution Business to act as the customer's agent through effective industry mechanisms, namely the DTN, and alleviate the customer of the responsibility for more of the co-ordination required for service relocation related meter moves.Change History
