Executive SummaryIn March 2018, the Authority issued a provisional order to a Supplier party preventing it from acquiring new Customers until further notice. Meter Point Administration Service (MPAS) Providers could have supported this order by suspending the registrations in MPAS to prevent the acquisition of new customers. Suspension is possible under current governance arrangements in both the MRA and the Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement (DCUSA) when the Supplier is in Payment/Event of Default. However, the suspension does not make provision for Authority orders to allow suspension of registrations in MPAS. This MIF proposes to introduce a new clause to the MRA that enables suspension of MPAS registrations where the Authority has issued an order or direction preventing a Supplier from acquiring new customers.
